Prof Fotaki and Prof Kenny have published a new article in The Conversation with the title ‘Coronavirus shows the dangers of letting market forces govern health and social care’. The authors explore the impact of marketisation on health and social care in the UK and abroad such as unpreparedness for the COVID-19 pandemic. They argue that, as a result of current failings in these sectors, public interest disclosures have become a societal safety valve.
